Over 300 people, including 100 enthusiastic kids, braved this year’s Inverell ‘Toughen Up’ Challenge. Battling the taxing obstacle course, contestants raced the clock; testing their fitness, wits and team work. Participants pushed themselves to their limits – crawling through mud, leaping hay bales and battling the “demon monkey bars”. With their own dedicated course, juniors had to contend with a slime pit and mud run.

Started in 2013, Toughen Up is a joint project between Pathfinders’ Inverell Family Youth Support Services and the region’s Community Drug Action Team. Together, we’re raising awareness to combat drug and alcohol use in the Inverell community.

We’re out to show that sport and fitness offer a better “high” than drugs and alcohol. Toughen Up is brought to life by our generous sponsors and an incredible group of over 50 volunteers.

All monies raised from our event are filtered back into the Inverell Community to improve our great town. Expressions of Interest will be called for in July from any non-profit organisation who would like a little extra funding to help with their on-going activites, contact Lynn Lennon on 0417.788.673

The date for 2015 will be the 1st or 2nd weekend of March, depending when the local show date is set.  Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date for our 2015 event and register for our early bird offer.
